Our interior design process begins with a thorough consultation where we discuss your unique style, preferences, and functional needs. From there, our professional design team will work closely with you to develop a tailored design plan that maximizes both aesthetic appeal and functionality. We understand that your home is a reflection of who you are, and our goal is to create a space that not only looks stunning but also feels like a true expression of your personality.

The Pre-Design Process

1

Contact Form

Fill out the contact form found in the contact page. The more information you can share about the overall scope of your project, budget, timelines and desired design services; the better we’ll be able to tell if SHI would be a good fit for you. Once your contact information has been submitted, you will hear back from the SHI team to set up a 30-minute discovery call.

2

Discovery Call

Once the contact form has been submitted, SHI will reach out to set up a 30-minute video discovery call. During this call, we will discuss where you are in the process, any challenges you’ve come across, and projects scope in more detail.

3

In-Person Site Visit

If both parties would like to further explore working together, the next step is to schedule an in-person site visit. During this time, we will take photos, detailed measurements of the space, and dial in the project scope. Please note SHI charges an hourly rate for travel and on-site time.

4

Design Proposal/Estimate

Within a week following the on-site visit, you will hear back from the SHI design team with a detailed design proposal along with an estimate for the design fees and billing schedule.

The Design Process

1

Mood Board

Using Pinterest and AI design software, SHI will select inspirational images, textures, and an initial color palette for the space. This board is intended to define the overall mood and will help guide every design decision throughout the process.

2

Floor Plan Option 1

Using a floor planning software, SHI will develop two floor plan options for you to consider. The chosen floor plan will determine the amount and scale of the furniture needed to best fill the space.

3

Floor Plan Option 2

4

Color Palette

Using the mood board and initial color palette as a guide, SHI will provide recommendations for paint colors and guide you on incorporating color through materials and prints to maintain a balanced and cohesive feel in the room.

5

3D Room Design Board

Using the mood board, final floor plan, and color palette as a guide; SHI will make selections for furniture, lighting, and decor that are within the agreed upon budget.  The room design board will be presented to the client for review, allowing for up to two rounds of edits.

6

Shopping List

Using the agreed upon items from the 3D Room Design Board, SHI will compile a comprehensive shopping list, detailing the total cost for each item. We can discuss possibilities for SHI to handle the procurement of items, or alternatively, the client can take charge of the purchases.

*An optional addition to the design package is a half-day or full-day styling session, offering assistance in arranging furniture and styling your space with both new and existing decor.  This is a fun day where we will crack a bottle of wine/champagne and celebrate your new space!
